CJSC SWECO SOYUZ Engineering to verify energy efficiency of Bratsk Metallurgical Plant

CJSC SWECO SOYUZ Engineering (CJSC SSE) will carry out expert examination of Bratsk Metallurgical Plant under construction to verify its energy and resource efficiency. The Company has entered into the relevant agreement with ZAO Bratsk Metallurgical Plant being the construction customer of the cognominal plant.

The work objectives include assessment of opportunities to improve the plant energy efficiency versus the process solutions adopted and determine the economic feasibility of possible changes to the facility configuration relevant to resource consumption. Under the contract terms and conditions, CJSC SSE will carry out the energy audit of the plant technical documentation, develop the power efficiency targets for each energy consuming facility. Further, based on the generated targets, the Company will prepare a program to improve the plant energy efficiency.

Bratsk Metallurgical Plant is being built in Eastern Siberia within the industrial site nearby Bratsk Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP). It will become one of the largest natural gas consumers provided by Bratsk gas condensate field. Reaching the design capacity of 200 thousand tons of long products, is scheduled for 2017.
