New General Electric gas turbine plant in Rybinsk

On the 28th of March, 2012 a contract was signed between the CJSC “SWECO Soyuz Engineering”(part of SOYUZ Holding) and the JSC “Russian gas turbines” (joint venture of General Electric, Inter RAO UES and the United Engine Corporation) for development of the design and budget documentation of a plant for assembly and testing industrial gas-turbine units 6FA. 

The plant with 20 hectares area will be constructed in Rybinsk city (Yaroslavl region) for production and servicing of gas-turbine units 6FA with 77 MW power with low emission. The construction of the plant will be accomplished in 2014. The production capacities will be able to satisfy the increasing demand in highly effective medium size power units for projects of combined production of heat end electric energy.

Designing will be performed in two stages. At the first stage the assembly building, office rooms and the paint booth of the plant will be designed, at the second – the gas treatment plant, the gas compressor, as well as the stand for testing gas turbines.

The CJSC “SWECO Soyuz Engineering” is a joint venture between SOYUZ Holding and the Finnish company SWECO INDUSTRY Oy. The company specializes in design studies, technical audit of projects, functions of Customer Engineer and Bank Engineer.

The JSC “Russian Gas turbines” was founded by the companies GE, OJSC “INTER RAO UES” and the Managing Company “ODK” for production, sale and servicing of highly-effective gas-turbine units 6FA with 77 MW power in Russia.
