The construction of the 9th power unit of the Novocherkasskaya SDPP is continuing
Currently at the construction site of the 9th power unit of the Novocherkasskaya SDPP the erection of the forth tier of the boiler unit frame with steam capacity 1000 t/h is under way.
In total 6 frame tiers are envisaged. The assembly of the main tower crane KROLL has been accomplished. The superstructure of the foundation of the turbine unit (“upper plate”) has been poured. In the boiler house pouring of foundations for the auxiliary equipment has been accomplished and pouring of subfloors has started.
The boiler to be installed is manufactured in accordance with the project “Foster Wheeler Energia Oy” at the plants “Red boiler maker” (part of the OJSC “EMAliance”, Taganrog city), and at the boiler producing plant of Foster Wheeler Energia Polska, Sosnowiec city, Poland. The utilized technology of CFB (circulating fluidized bed) does not have analogues in our country. The use of this technology is an optimum solution from the point of view of existing environmental standards, meeting the requirements of existing European standards on emission of harmful substances.
The general contractor of construction is the JSC “Manufacturing Company “VIS” (St-Petersburg), the erection of the boiler unit is performed by the Construction and Erection Department “SZEM”. The CJSC “SWECO Soyuz Engineering”, part of SOYUZ Holding, provides technical consultations as Customer Engineer in the part of works, connected with the boiler unit.
The Novocherkasskaya SDPP is located in Donskoy village, Rostov area, 53 km south-west from Rostov-on-Don. The installed power of the plant is 2112 MW. The startup of the new power unit is planned for December, 2014.
