The erection of a CCGT is under way at the CHP-20 | ССИ Инжиниринг

The erection of a CCGT is under way at the CHP-20

The works on erection of the main equipment of the CCGT unit started at the Kirovskaya CHP-3. A generator stator weighting 173 tons and a turbine complex weighting 195 tons were installed on the foundation. The works are executed within the framework of reconstruction of the power plant, providing installation of a new power unit with 220 MW installed electric power and 136 Gcal/h installed heat power.

Currently at the CHP-3 the erection of the main gas duct of the heat recovery steam generator is accomplished, its height is more than 25m (height of an 8-storied building). The next step will be the erection of heating surfaces modules. Every module consists of 3 units weighting more than 50 tons and with length of more than 23 m. For the erection of the modules of the heat recovery steam generator a DEMAG crane with a lifting capacity of 500 tons has been installed at the site.

In parallel foundation work for the ventilation cooling tower and the circulating pumping station are under way. The erection of the open switchgear 110 kV equipment is going on, all the metal structures have been installed, practically all the equipment has been installed (circuit breakers, current and voltage transformers, disconnectors).

The customer is the OJSC “TGK-5”. The investor of the project is the OJSC “Gazprombank”. The general contractor is the CJSC “Intertechelectro”. The CJSC “SWECO Soyuz Engineering” (part of SOYUZ Holding) is providing services of Technical agent for reconstruction of the CHP.

The Kirovskaya CHP-3 is located in Kirovo-Tchepets city, Kirov region. The Kirovskaya CHP-3 was built in 1942. As a result of the implementation of the project the installed electric power of the facility will increase from 149 MW up to 369 MW. The project is power efficient, after its completion the fuel consumption for production of 1 kV/h of electric energy will decrease by more than 30%. As a result it will allow reduction of electric power shortage in the Kirov power system, implementation of modern environment-friendly clean technologies of production of heat and electric energy.

The commissioning of the facility is planned not later, than the 1st of July, 2014.
